WWE NXT is just three days away from what could be a major shift in the brand’s direction at NXT Takeover San Antonio. Until then the build continues with the Women’s Division taking center stage. Asuka will confront her challenges while Ember Moon looks to make waves towards an eventual title opportunity.
Fatal Four Way Interview
It was two weeks ago that Asuka was attacked by Billie Kay and Peyton Royce backstage. The onslaught led them to the ring were Sanity’s Nikki Cross appeared to make the save but instead turned her lunatic energy on the NXT Women’s Champion. While certainly not the greatest night the Empress of Tomorrow has ever had, she isn’t wasting any time in her search for vengeance and will be face-to-face with her challengers on Wednesday.
The setting: a sit-down interview which can only mean one thing. There will be mayhem. Billie Kay and Peyton Royce are looking to make names for themselves as the NXT Women’s Division continues its rebirth and these two Australians are hoping to be the center of that new movement. Their unleashed anger on Asuka is just the first step.
Nikki Cross, on the other hand, is the wildcard. The queen of Sanity has been seemingly as unstoppable as she is unpredictable. That trait, mixed with the seemingly constant interference from members of her deranged group could be what she needs to conquer the unbeaten champion Asuka.
Liv Morgan and Ember Moon Battle for the Shot
A friendly battle between Liv Morgan and Ember Moon may not be so civil since a chance at the NXT Women’s Championship hangs in the balance. To this point Ember Moon has been unstoppable, running a parallel path of destruction next to the reigning champion. While the two have not converged, a win against Liv Morgan will most certainly see that confrontation come to the forefront.
Before that can happen, she’ll need to get through Liv Morgan. Morgan hasn’t been spectacular but her heart has proven to be more than enough to get her to this point. She was decimated by Asuka in late 2016 but has pulled herself back from the bottom of the ladder and can make a name for herself as the first person to defeat Ember Moon. Will it happen? More than likely not but doesn’t put anything past Jersey Strong Style.
