Let’s Talk About- RAW 11/21/2016

We open with GOOOOOLLLDDDBERG…GOOOOOOLLLLLDDDDBERG…GOOOOOOLLLLLDDDDBERG! He comes down to the ring with a hell of a response from the crowd. He talks about how he was out to only have one more match with Brock, and he did that. However, Stephanie told him he might have one last title run in him.

He announced to the crowd that he will be entering himself into the Royal Rumble match for a chance to have that one last title run. Fun, and to the point!

Match 1: The New Day (C)  vs. Cesaro and Sheamus for the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship

Recap: Very basic, and to me boring, match between these two. Big E brought it back a little with his belly-to-bellies on Sheamus. Big E went for the Big Ending, however, he is countered into a White Noise for a 2 count. Cesaro hits the Uppercut into the corners. Kofi, jumped off the top and was caught by Cesaro, and then one-armed, tilt-a-whirl backbreaker’d for a 2 count. Trouble in Paradise was blocked by Cesaro, and turned into the Big Swing. Many of swings later, Cesaro locks in the Sharpshooter. Big E gets kicked. Kofi taps, but Woods was distracting the ref, and Kofi…sigh…rolls up Cesaro for the 3 count. So a guy can be dropped on his head, and kick out? He could be slammed into the mat, and kickout. However, a guy gets rolled up, the body just isn’t able to functions for 3 seconds? Anyways, New Day used the heel tactics and got the win.

Your Winners and STILL WWE RAW Tag Team Champions: The New Day via roll up

Enzo is naked, he is walking around, naked. He ends up in front of Lana, naked, him not her. He asks her how she was doing. Rusev, asks the best question, what was he doing naked in front of his wife? Anyways, this was a way to get these two in the ring, so there you go.

Oh, so Sami gets blamed for losing? He was screwed…but his “punishment” is he has to face Braun Strowman.

Match 2: Cedric Alexander vs. Daivari

Recap: So, Daivari is a heel, because he is a Muslim? So inventive guys! Daivari with a quick, and somewhat vicious attack on Cedric. Also, did you know, Cedric could lose weight? Cedric hits the head-scissor takeover on Daivari. Cedric with the springboard clothesline. Lumbar Check by Cedric and the 1…2…3. Match was ok, but just not great.

Your Winner: Cedric Alexander via Lumbar Check

Highlight Reel: Short and simple: Chris and Owens act like they are breaking up. They act like they are going to blame one another for the lose last night. However, they end up blaming Seth Rollins. Woohoo. This was entertaining, but it was just a waste of time. Rollins and Reigns end up standing tall. Also, the big dog stuff has got to stop. Once more, damn did he get booed out of the building. It isn’t a boo, we are having fun, it sounds more like a boo we just don’t like this. This does set up the main event for tonight, you know this show, and hour in, that didn’t have a main event until now.

Match 3: Rusev vs Enzo

Recap: Squash. Enzo gets a roll up and…Rusev kicked out? WHAAAAT!!!!?? Anyways, Super kick into the Accolade for the tap out victory.

Your Winner: Rusev via Accolade

The Golden Truth vs Gallows and Anderson

Recap: To keep with my frustration, Anderson just eats offense from, well, everybody. Gallows comes in and dominates Truth. Bad, boring middle, with Truth getting beat up. Goldust with the hot tag. Ten, Ten,Ten,Ten, punches in the corner by Goldust. Nice, powerslam by Goldust onto Anderson. Goldust goes to the top, like a stupid face, and is kicked off by Anderson. Magic Killer by Gallows and Anderson for the 1…2…3! Not a good match for me. It actually sort of killed the crowd. That is sad.

Your Winners: Gallows and Anderson via Magic Killer

Match 4: Sami Zayn vs Braun Strowman

Recap: Basically a squash. Braun tracks down Sami and takes Sami out. Into the ring and Braun takes it to Sami. Sami, does fight back, but Braun clocks him. He just beats the ever loving out of him. Braun gets Sami into the Tree of Woe, but Mick comes out and stops the match. This was not entertaining.

Your Winner: Braun Strowman via Stoppage

Charlotte comes out and cuts her heel promo. Sasha comes out and demands her rematch. Charlotte says she is on, but that it won’t happen tonight. She wants to beat Sasha in her hometown, just like she beat Sasha in Sasha’s hometown. Nia comes out, because reasons. She thinks Sasha is weak, where as, Nia tapped out. She didn’t dominate anyone. Bayley comes down to help the beat down. I was not feeling this.

Match 5: Sasha and Bayley vs. Charlotte and Nia Jax

Recap: Bayley goes after Charlotte, Charlotte tags out and Nia takes out Bayley. Boring beatdown on Bayley, who, eventually gets the hot tag to Sasha. Sasha with the crossbody and the double knees onto Charlotte. Sasha, and Bayley get a double suplex onto Nia Jax. Charlotte rolls up Sasha but Sasha gets the Bank Statement on. Charlotte rolls through, but Sasha gets the Bank Statement back on and get the tap out victory.

Your Winners: Sasha Banks and Bayley via Bank Statement

Match 6: Noam Dar vs. Rich Swann vs. TJ Perkins for the Number One Contendership to the Cruiserweight Championship

Recap: Rich Swann takes out Dar with the flip through dropkick. Perkins takes out Swann’s knee as Raw rolls on. Perkins goes for the kick to the face on Dar, but he caught Perkins in the ankle lock. Rich is locked into the knee bar by Perkins, but Dar breaks it up. Perkins gets the knee bar onto Dar, but Swann breaks it up with the Rolling Thunder. Swann with the Super Kick, I guess, and a 3 count on Perkins. Match was fine just not that memorable.

Your Winner and Number One Contender to the Cruiserweight Championship via Super Kick

Match 7: Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens (C) for the WWE Universal Championship

Recap: Pretty good, relatively long match between Kevin, and Seth. Too many commercials for my liking. Ending saw Chris in the crowd with a Sin Cara Mask, and a King of Strong Style hoodie. So, ringside isn’t the crowd apparently? I guess this will set up, yes another, rematch between Seth and Kevin.

Rewinding a little bit, this was caused by the fighting around ringside. Seth came off of the exit sign onto Kevin Owens. Seth Pedigrees Jericho, but Kevin immediately Apron Powerbombs Seth and picks up the 1…2…3!

Your Winner and STILL WWE Universal Champion: Kevin Owens

Show Overall: A very middle of the road show tonight. The last match was pretty good, but the rest of the show was very forgettable. Now, the last match had three commercial breaks in it, two of which were less and three minutes apart. So, to get into this match, you would have to be ok with a lot of the weapon spots happening during the break. That threw me off. Good news is that RAW is pushing some storylines, and I like the stories that are telling so far. I am excited to see Goldberg at the Rumble and you actually set something up for a future PPV, and RAW was also set up for next week. Wow, you think promoting matches for the next week would possible get people to tune in? Maybe! So…

Until Next Time,
