Here we go baby! You ready for Smackdown? Well, you better be, because it is what we are reviewing!
Randy Orton opens the night. Randy, who looks like he just woke up from a nap, gets a mic and runs down Bray Wyatt. He talks about, how Bray Wyatt likes to talk about fear. He says Bray is afraid. Randy runs down my fears;
heights, spiders, and sneaky snakes. He calls out Bray. Bray cuts a promo on the screen. He talks about Hansel and Gretel . He talks about how his breadcrumb trail will send him through an asylum. He tells Orton, that he is in no positions to make demands. He talks about Days of Our Lives. He sings “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands”. This promo makes Orton leave the ring. Weird, but not bad start. The crowd was confused.
We get a backstage segment with Dean Ambrose. He is zany and random!!!! He calls Cena old, and says he is going to turn AJ into the guy that is gonna cry.
Match 1: 8 Man Tag Team Match: Heath Slater, Rhyno, and American Alpha vs. The Ascension and the Usos
Recap: Not too much to say about this match. The Usos have new gear, again. I didn’t hate it but, did they actually get 20 different pairs of pants and shirts, and all be damned, they are going to wear them all.
Back and forth between the two teams and in the end The Usos take out the leg of Heath and then we see the return of the Tequila Sunrise and a tap out victory for the Usos and their team.
Your Winner: The Usos and The Ascension.
Sneaky Snake Orton is backstage, and he is in a dark locker room. We see in the corner that Erick Rowan is there…OK. After the commercial we get another Bray Wyatt promo. He tries to goad Randy into finding him.
Match 2: Natalya and Carmella vs. Naomi and Nikki Bella
Recap: Jobber entrance for Nattie and Carmella, however, we get a shitshow of a backstage inset promo…Nikki Bella’s music SUUUUCKS! Also, Nikki and Naomi’s inset was so bad, they cut into the promo in progress. Nikki is feeling the flow…sorry glow. SHIIIIIT!
We see Naomi rub her ass into Carmella’s face, the Women’s revolution everyone! We also get a Bronco Buster…it was horrible, by Carmella. Look guys when you remove Becky and/or Alexa, this division is not very good. Hot tag by Nikki but Carmella breaks it up. Carmella with the rollup and thankfully the match is over. Wow, this wasn’t very good.
Your Winners: Carmella and Natalya
Orton continues to go through a backstage. haunted house, looking for Bray. 2 Spooky for me, as Orton opens a door, and see a cutout of him, with the eyes cut out. This is pretty stupid.
Miz homecoming. Maryse introduces the Miz and we go back to a promo package of his career. We do get a Miz girl sighting on this package. He strokes the Johnson of Cleveland and then goes heel. Ziggler comes down to defend Cleveland’s honor.
Miz is right, he beat Ziggler, over and over and over and over. Ziggler talks about Miz cheating. Miz asks Ziggler when he is going to stop with his mediocre career. Miz, making another point, is that Ziggler has nothing to offer to him to get another match. Ziggler stops the Miz from leaving and tells him the ring is the only thing he has left. He says it is something that he loves and sometimes that doesn’t love him back. Ziggler cuts a very good promo on Miz and he tells him that he can’t stop himself, that if Miz puts the title up one more time that he will put up his career. Miz agrees if he promises that he is done for good. So here we have it. Ziggler vs The Miz Intercontinental Championship against Ziggler’s career.
Too Much Bray and Randy!
Becky Lynch vs….
Alexa Bliss comes out and takes out Becky Lynch on the ring apron. She steals her belt and tells Becky that she deserves that belt. Well done. Simple.
TOO MUCH BRAY AND ORTON! Bray gets taken out by Orton, who had the goat mask on. Good ending to this, but wow too much! Orton singing that song was cool and creepy…and I am not sure what happened at the end…I might be high.
AJ is interviewed backstage. AJ Says he is bigger than the presidential debate. He remind everyone on how they got to tonight. He reminds up all that he beat up, and then beat, John Cena and Dean Ambrose.
It’s Time for YOUR MAAAAIIIIINNNNN EVENT!
Match 4: AJ Styles © vs. Dean Ambrose for the WWE World Championship
Recap: Early in the match we got a some back and forth. Very quickly we are outside and Dean has AJ on the table. We come back from break one with Dean hitting some clothesline, we go into commercial break two with Ambrose diving out, onto AJ Styles. AJ gets the Calf Killer on Dean but he fights out. Dean face plants AJ. Dean crotches AJ and hits a clothesline off of Bret’s rope for a 2. Pele kick by Styles who goes outside for the 450 but misses.
Ambrose hits the elbow off the top. Style hits the running knee on the outside. AJ takes out Cena and then goes for the Phenomenal Elbow, but Ambrose rolls him up. Ambrose heads outside and takes out Cena and comes back in only to be rolled up by AJ for the 1…2…3! Match was good but in the end we see…John Cena standing tall, you know, the guy not in the match.
Your Winner and STILL WWE World Champion: AJ Styles
Show Overall: Show was just ok tonight. I thought the show flowed well, but we had too much of the Orton and Bray story. We got a match between Dean and AJ end in a roll up and then Cena standing tall. We had a shit of a match between Naomi, Nikki, Carmella, and Natalya which is just showing who can, and can’t work a good match in that division. Overall…MEH? So…
Until Next Time,
